    Apple iMac

    by Dug » Wed Feb 23, 2011 11:48 pm

I am ashamed to admit I have a relative who is a PC user

As usual her PC has yet again blown up and spat the dummy.

I am trying to get her to give up and just buy a Mac, does anyone have an older desktop iMac they need to get rid off ?

She is on a pension and does not have a great deal of money to spare so nothing too expensive.

Have you had a look at the Mac Refurbished store to see if anything is in budget?

    How old?

We have two of the lampshade style iMacs. One is a 15" and the other 20" display. Both with IBM G4 processors I think the 15" is 800MHz and the 20" 1.2GHz so they will only run up to about OS10.2. Both have their original packaging and all discs and manuals.

The other option for a pensioner who I may be wrongly assuming has only relatively modest computer requirements is a Netbook. There are plenty of new ones around now with 10" screens and all the buzz words for under $400.

Thanks guys I think she has gone PC again

She was looking at something under $800.

She also would need to convert a lot of her older reference files.

    Thanks anyway

If you ever need just a 2nd hand mac check out these guys

I've bought from them before and are pretty good. Advice a bit too late in this situation but there's always the next time a PC decides to blow up.
