    Annual Newsletter...

    by Muzza » Tue Aug 08, 2006 9:44 am

I was thinking an annual newsletter via email to registered members, might be a good way of keeping everyone in touch. It could contain things like an update on competitions, mini meets, events, Birdy specials etc. I thought monthly would be good. It would help provide a single source of all the important info and help maintain interest in the forum. :?:

I tell you what works for me, I'm a member at PhotoSIG and when I don't visit for about 3 weeks I get an email saying "we miss you". That usually spurs me to a visit.

Sorry Muzza, but an Annual newsletter sent Monthly? :? ;)

I know what you mean though, having something sent out once a month would serve as a reminder to those who don't visit too often, and also provide a good bit of reading for the regulars.

I don't start waking up until mid-Wednesday, and by then it's time to start settling down again for the weekend :)

Thanks Justin. Maybe you could be assistant editor.
If the idea was to get going it might be a job we could share around, but I would be happy to give it a go. The email certainly doesn't have to be anything special, just a way to keep people informed and interested in what's going on. A paragraph should do it.
For example " Our current landscape photo completion is nearing the end so don't forget to get your entries in by Friday the 30th. Birdy currently has some great specials on memory cards and congratulations to our 500th registered member Johnny, who signed up during the month."
Of course a member could elect whether they wish to receive the email or not.
    Later,
    Murray
