You could try a Sigma 150-500 and a monopod or you could sell both testicles and everything you own in perpetuity and get some long Canon pro glass.

Depending on what you are doing with the photos the Sigma 150 500 is really good bang for your buck.

Specialist long lenses are horrendously expensive

The uw housing would be nice but a little out of my price range at the moment, as with the 12k lens suggested Haha. But that sigma lenses looks like the go and in my price range. Ive only just got the camera back off the ex so still learning. So the digital camera warehouse site is the place to buy is it??
    Cheers

They are my online retailer of choice. There are others and you might find a better price elsewhere though if you look.

A 2x extender will give you 400mm though it drops 2 stops of light.
70-200 f2.8L would go nicely with it.

CR Kennedy the Australian Sigma importers are fairly aggressive in supporting their resellers against grey market pricing so you might even want to contact them in Melbourne and ask for a good reseller in your area who will match the grey market price. They have in the past directed me to resellers who offer prices that, lets say aren't published.

I bought a Canon EF 70-200mm f2.8L USM Telephoto Zoom Lens For $1095 couple of weeks ago. its amazing. Its not an inexpensive lens, but it is worth the price in my opinion. I now consider this my second most important lens with the first being a more general purpose lens in focal length range. My keeper rate from this lens is among the best of any lenses I have used especially with wildlife shots and weddings when you don't want to be scaring away animals or interrupting moments. I Found a website that shows you how to get the cheapest price possible. it's got a vid review and pics taken with it. Says if you find a better one elsewhere you get 120% the difference. Was already cheaper then eBay anyway. http://onlinestore-sale-alert.com.au/ca ... 0mm-f2-8l/

    good luck

That's odd, on that entire site there is only one product, that 70-200mm lens, and that is just a click through ad for Top Buy.

We wouldn't be spamming now would we?

How did you go with your Sigma 150-500mm. What f stop is it? I've always looked at the prime 300mm f4L to be an awesome lens for surfing photography.
