    Noisy Minor

A Noisy Minor fledgling on the day it left the security of its nest which was in a grapefruit bush just outside our kitchen. It (and its siblings) certainly lived up to the reputation of its name.

Love the capture and can't stand the bird.

they are the most persistent bullies out there.

the colour and plumage has come up a treat and the lens looks great Geoff.

that is quite an arsenal of glass you have now!

Have you found a lot of difference between the 56mm and the 60mm?

    cheers Eden

Eden, this was shot with the 60mm, it's a frustrating lens in that it does hunt a bit in AF. I believe it is more responsive with the newer bodies from Fuji i.e. XE2 and XT1. That said it is probably the sharpest in the Fuji lineup. The 56 is faster to lock focus and is probably my favourite lens, but that may be due to it being the most recent purchase. Although the focal lengths are similar they are completely different tools.

Even the fledgling chicks look aggressive.

Like this shot a lot Geoff. Good colours, DOF is spot on for the subject, and the OOF areas of the background really help focus the eye onto the bird. That makes it sound like a shot that only qualifies as good because of technical aspects, whereas it's just a very enjoyable image. Simple, and well executed.
