    Poverty

    by Ken182 » Tue Feb 24, 2009 9:15 am

Hi gang, it has come to my attention that poverty and new Mac monitors don't mix. However for a less impact on my poverty I can buy a new Dell or refurbished Dell, so I need to know:

What models and sizes the Dell users are retaining as there LCD monitor and how recent the model is.

    cheers

Not a Dell user Ken. Dont like em.

I would be careful to select a 8 bit monitor. Only some of the dell monitors are full 8 bit true colour type.

Thanks Nito, I would like an Eizo or a Apple monitor, but in the interim untill I increase my income to "regular" I will have to make do.

Before we left Adelaide I was using a 21" Trinitron monitor for about 4 years and it was second hand. I calibrated it every month and it never wavered from its base point. I was told by a monitor repair guy I knew that this series was one of the best Sony ever release and was something to do with them using really high end circuitry components. Apparently Russia fitted this model onto a part of their Sub fleet - it was a great pub yarn I thought so I made sure I shouted him a beer :-)

Big bastard monitor though, it took up more surface than Texas.

Make sure you get the Dell Ultrasharp - any model - as long as it's the ultrasharp
