I'm not going to imply this is a good image but when I was reviewing the shots I took of an RC Helicopter I noticed these artefacts along the rotor. No other shots showed this.

This was taken with my new toy a D800e using a 300mm f/2.8G VRII @ 1/400 f/16 ISO1800. I'm not going to defend using this camera for something it really isn't for as I bought it for landscapes and travel, not for fast action. In fact I only shot a couple of dozen images and then went back to my D3s, just wanted to "learn" the camera. I was expecting to get a moire effect on the rotors of the 'copter but didn't.

Hmmm, unusual... I'm assuming no flash was being used, so perhaps at that point in the rotor-blade's travel it gave a long area along the blade's edge which was directly reflecting the sun at the camera?

Thanks, didn't even consider sun light reflection. A large portion of the rotors was black with a trailing white edge and ends so it makes sense.
