    by Eden » Thu Jan 24, 2013 11:55 pm

    I have 3 or four others showing at a Port Adelaide meet

    several canon users and a sony user

    all are welcome and the details are as follow

    -----------------------------------

    this is "ALL" friendly

    wheelchair , disabled , bi polar and film also( gee ,,,if I have to!!!)
    :)

    =======================================
    =======================================
    =======================================

    MARINE AND HARBOURS BUILDING @ PORT ADELAIDE ( big vacant building over the rd from the police station on st vincent st,,, end of port rd (comercial pt rd))

    """"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""March 2nd saturday @ 7am -till 9am start (and then)""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""

    I will walk -push stroll or aid in transport around a 1.5 km area that I can give a little history of and an insight into

    I will suggest a meet (at the port dock tavern) for lunch and i will throw in some wedgies and dip for those that are financially challenged

    the afternoon can be up to those that show on the day but I will if there are enough to warrant it a ride to the wet lands on south rd or the beach @ sema4.

    Its not HOW GOOD YOU ARE but about enjoyment

    and for the record I can take a photo !
    but I cannot drive a new camera!

    Its all fun and enjoyment

    Eden

    PS this is a morning and lunch meet with the opportunity to do a lunch and arvo meet tied in depending on interest from others ( mainly those whom attend!! to be decided at lunch !!!!)

    as I said ,,,,disability friendly ---- 2 twin cab utes and helpers to make it work if needed!!!!!

    eden (again)

    Hi Eden

    Sorry but (I was going to say UNfortunately but not true) is Clipsal Saturday.....

    Was seriously considering as I spent from age 8 to 27 living on the LeF Peninsula.

    Hope it goes well for those taking part.

    Cheers

    Hey Eden,

    I'll be there with bells on (if it is still on of course). Port Adelaide is such an interesting place to photograph, and I am looking forward to just taking a walk with some like minded individuals.

    I'll PM you my number in case anything changes.

    Cheers,

    evat601.

    for the days timetable, for anyone (Evan) attending, Sat 2nd march tides are

    0638 high tide - 2.11m

    12.36 low tide - 0.27m

    18.57 high tide - 2.46m

    so as a suggestion (open to all offers)

    ==============================================================================================
    ------buildings in the morning while there are shadows and light

    ------lunch (port dock tavern ( brews its own beers ,alco ginger ale, alco sarsaparilla beer and ales /stouts etc and has a great menu and damn reasonable food )

    ------around the port at low tide for the dry verses wet beams and rocks/structures/molluscs/crabs and exposed beaches etc

    ------then whatever is left in us to grab some afternoon light and if anyone makes the distance (long day) some shots with the local architecture (all the wool sheds look cool in the evening glow ) if the weather is still suitable and if lunch hasnt taken its toll

    ps dolphins will show at some stage as they are all round at the moment ( port river dolphins ) they often tail dance !!!-----why/ ----- coz they can ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,and we had marineland at west beach and it was learned by just a few many years ago ( days of black and white)
    ==============================================================================================

    my mitzy triton twin cab ute will be at the marine and harbours building or within obvious eye-shot and ( you cannot miss it) and I will be there as stated from 7-9 am then off to the wool sheds 500m away.

    as "Wassa" said Clipsall is on so you might get afew shots of the jets as they fly over on the way from the air base to town via straight above.

    cheers

    It looks like it was a most fruitful day.

    The old milling company building lights up nicely at night time if you ever do a late one.

    All in all it was a great day, I got to meet some great people, and learned a few things along the way (like I don't have nearly as big a GAS problem as others!!).

    Thanks again to Eden for organising the whole thing!!

    Gas Problem ?
    I must have been lucky and been upwind at the crucial moments.

    but that mono-brow is a bit of a problem though :roll:

    yeah Chris the Old Mill looks good at night! just as the new bridge looks good as well.It is an underrated and under developed area

    yes Walter It was a great day and It was fantastic to see how 4 people can walk up to the same object or area and see it in 4 totally different ways (a great learning experience for me)

    Evan , the next meet is yours to organise if that is OK by Doug and Simsy and I like the idea of an early start for some night time long exposures in the city !!!

    Hey Doug , your getting awesome clarity out of that lens , that 1 shot I took at Garden Island near the boardwalk has the sky a fantastic even smooth rich shade of blue.

    Simsy , the Sony is awesome with its peaking mode you showed us and I love the panorama function but I was really impressed with the smaller camera you picked up for your coming trip. the lens system with the wide angle adaptor is a cracker and the whole unit is a great size with what looks like well made components

    Itching to see more shots fellas !!!!!

    cheers Eden

    I've been very slack posting on this forum only three in nearly a year.
    It was an fun day out, I had not been every active with the camera either so it was good to get out with like minded individuals and get creative again.
    I like the idea for the next outing doing a night shot, its not something I have got into so I'm keen to give it a go.

    These were the shots that came out the best from Saturday.
