Annual New Years Eve SEQNNSW Cooloola Coast Trek

    by Slider » Wed Dec 06, 2006 7:33 pm

Some of you might remember that we got together last year on NYE and did a 4X4 run mixed with some photography along the way. It gave a lot of people the opportunity to see and photograph places they normally would not be able to get to.

Personally, I had a ball and would like to propose that we do it all again.

Last year NYE fell on a Saturday which seemed to suit the majority. So I propose that we have it on Saturday 30/12/06. A Clayton's NYE if you like.

A few people commented that we were a bit rushed last year and may have tried to squeeze too much in so my proposed itinerary:

A few less places but more time at each

Kick off around Noosa / Tewantin 09:00

    1. Lake Macdonald Botanical Gardens - flowers, macros, birds, (Tawny Frogmouth last year) candid photos of photographers taking photgraphs

2.Secret spot in Cooloola forest for brunch. Old trees over the picturesque creek and swimming hole. Stitched panos, etc.

    3. Kings Bore track to Teewah Beach and up to Double Island Point for lunch .. Ocean and beach views, lighthouse for those feeling up to it.

    4. Teewah Coloured Sands

    5. Over the barge and back.

So who's interested that has a 4x4 and can take passengers.

Who's interested and would like to accompany one of our generous 4x4 owners.

I am happy to take along 3 extras in my vehicle. With gear that about covers it.

I will also be posting this on "the other" forum as some of the attendees from last year may not see this thread here.

And for those with short memories :D

    Mark,

That sounds like a great idea and I would have loved to have come. :(

Unfortunatly I have family from Perth over for Christmas and New Year's and wouldn't be able to make it, but i'm sure you'll get plenty of takers as it sounds like a great day out.

My co-pilot seat hasn't been taken yet so you're in.

Sounds great Mark - Team Manta will be there again. (Full car)

May I respectfully suggest you place a limit on the number of vehicles? Otherwise these trips can get very messy.
    Simon

    Sorry....what was the question again?

What time would you normally return from the outing? As I am on the GC that day but want to try and shoot the NYE fireworks from somewhere.

Excellent Simon and a good suggestion. I feel between 5 and 8 is a manageable number.

SO at this stage it would appear that we have the following:

Oneputt - Landcruiser, (tentative but probable) space for 3 passengers
    Manta - Prado, with family
Slider - Pajero, space for 3 passengers
    Mitedo - Passenger
    Bindiblue - tentative - passenger?
    Cheers

Mark - may I be presumptuous and make a tentative booking for Ladybird and Marty (Pajero IO)? They are away camping this weekend and won't see this thread until they return on Tuesday night.
