D5100 and Tamron 18-270 Nikon Mount

by Heidi Castle » Sun Jul 01, 2012 3:17 pm

    Hi there,
After a bit of advice. I am planning on purchasing very soon a Nikon D5100 body only and a Tamron 18-270mm F/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD lens.

Will the lens with a Tamron Nikon mount operate with the current Nikon D5100?

Appreciation in advance for the comments and help in this.

    Hi Heidi

Have you looked at the D3200( I dont like the 5100) with kit lens ? Any thing like a 18-270mm is going to be shit and a compromise . I purchased a D3200 for my daughter for OS travel with a second hand 18- 70 nikon and its a fantastic kit
Calm down its not real life its a internet forum:)

I would vote for the D3200 as well.. I am considering getting it for my NZ tour.. ( on a bike ,.. its lighter that want i have now. Well that's the excuse anyway.. ) Its really a great little kit.

PS: and I would go with any nikon kit lens over that tamron.
