here is an image from GeoffM for this weeks challenge

    there are several problem areas.
we might need a raw image but see how we go.

Will be interesting to see what you can come up with this one

Would've been a whole heap easier working with the RAW image. But anyways - here's my take on things.....
    Image
Edited up in two layers, curves adjustments, little bit of a play with colour / saturations, and a bit of burning in of the sky...Think I might have gone a bit light on the foreground areas though.

I wanted to get the highlights, which were in the RAW image, so created a spread of 4 images -2 -1 0 +1 and did a HDR merge. Noise, sharpen, up the red +6, that's it...

    Image

edit* Having seen it at work I toned it down a lot, probably too flat now

Like I said.... until I try! Trying to repeat what Blokeman has done and had a error message in CS2 while trying a HDR merge "not enough dynamic range".

I used Photomatix, and I am by no means an expert, I sort of blunder through. I used to use CS2 but it kept stuffing up highlights in water, at least for me...

Funny thing working on monitors. At home I use a laptop, looking at my image at work, on pretty ordinary LCD monitors the sunbeams on mine are bright orange! I may have to set up a PC just for editing.....
