    aperture issues

    by poire » Fri Dec 19, 2008 1:53 pm

    heyya

I'm having some trouble adjusting the aperture on my camera in manual mode. In "M" the lowest i can get it is like 5.5, although when i'm in "p" it goes as low as 3.5, which is the lowest f-stop the lens has. I'm completely new to everything, so its probably something really obvious, but can someone explain how i can get it below 5.5?

Does the lens have an aperture ring? If it does then the odds are it needs to be set at the highest f number. Have a look.

Your lens may be say for example f3.5-5.6. The 3.5 you get at say 70mm and the 5.6 at 300mm so I would check your focal lenght has not changed too.
