    Location help needed: Melbourne

    by jota_au » Fri Jul 17, 2009 2:19 pm

    Hi everyone,

I need some helping tracking down a location in Melbourne. Attached is an image that I have from a friend of mine. She took this about 3 years ago but she forgets where the actual lane is. I'm looking at doing a shoot down in Melbourne in a couple of weeks and would love to shoot there. Does anyone know where this is?

    Michael

Why I'm not sure specifically, but Hosier Lane is well known for its "street art"

This alley is off Center Place in Melbourne CBD between Collins St and Flinders Lane - it's only a stones throw from Flinders St station so access for a visiter will be easy :)

Note that the graffitti here changes quite frequently so if your reference image is 3 years old it will probably look different now ...

    Hi guys
I think a better place for street art is streets that run off Brunswick street Fitzroy.

Croft Alley in chinatown is good too (did a glamour shoot there on Tuesday).

LOL maybe I should have started a new thread .. instead of recycling one.. I am not wanting street art but New Years Eve photos.. Like fireworks and street performers and open air bands etc...

Wherever you go, be prepared for hoards of very drunk people, generally shouting "TAKE MY PICTURE TOO MAAAAAAAAAAAAAATEE!!!!".

Birramung Marr on the Yarra would probably be a good vantage point, but likely to be packed - Docklands harbour could be a good option too - even if it's busy there you should still be able to get a clearish shot out over the water.
