    ImageIMG_7949 by MrStinkybait, on Flickr

Eden, Doug and Alex for a start so far with the aim for a till dawn session.

    With an Idea for Maybe

    Torrens area
North tce from south Tce to west Tce (coffee at Maccas?)
maybe Hindley st and Rundle Mall ?
I would personally also love a wander through West Tce Cemetary as it is now open 24hrs

It will be 2 days after the full moon so lesser lit areas my fire up well?

any thoughts for other possible locations and any other takers
I want to stand as close to the edge as I can without going over. Out on the edge you see all the kinds of things you can't see from the center.

The western end of North terrace is alluring to me, I am still yet to get any night imagery of "that building", perhaps even Adelaide High, it has a great art deco feel. Didn't know about the cemetery being open 24 hours now, that could be good, with the right cloud cover. The mall and many other parts of the CBD interest me for the architectural opportunities that abound. How do you guys feel about lane-ways and car-parks? Great lines and light in some of them.
Feedback and honest, constructive criticism is greatly appreciated.

How about the few remaining old warehouses at the back (or front) of the Advertiser printing plant, Mile End?

I for one expect you to climb the stairs down to Ethel Wreck and return triumphant with gorgeous eye candy for us all...

Have fun, Simsy, while I freeze my ass off in town trying not to get arrested for criminal trespass... possibly...

D'ya reckon the ute could make those tight turns, mate? The steps would give you a bit of traction if you ride the gears on the way down...

I didn't think about the knees, with you being a truck driver and all that climbing up and down all day... Nonetheless, have fun, Simsy.

Eden, I'll bring the speedlite for you, bring a stack of AA's if you want to use it, it takes four at a time.

The light issues could be a few things that I have experienced in the short time I've dabbled in night photography. Long exposures need you to plug the viewfinder, most Canons have a thing which people put on their neck straps and then can't use. It just slides in to the viewfinder and blocks all extraneous light. Quite a few lenses do have refraction issues with lights at certain angles, clean up in post-production is pretty well necessary. You could be right about internal dust also, especially with older lenses.

Sorry I deleted that post Alex but I had a few grogs last night and dribbled on too much

This was the worst out of the 3 shots with the spots , the green flare is not an issue.

I just couldn't relate the spots to the background lights and wondered if it was something other than reflection.

maybe internal dust picking up the under rail lighting

f/22 is half your issue! When the aperture is as closed down as a fishes butt, you'll get that! Makes for those wonderful (if you like them) star shaped flares off of lights though. An ND filter or two would have helped and thet could have taken the edge off the lights doing their refraction with the lens as well. You are not alone here in this problem on this bridge, I had the same issue, not as bad though. Some lenses are cleaner than others, the newer ones have special film applied to the outer of the front lens group to help minimise this. I was surprised that the tilt-shift, for being a cheapie, didn't have too bad a time of it!

It could possibly be dust inside the lens groupings too.

There could also be the chance that this is light leaking in through the viewfinder too...

Mate I would be game but as we are staying with the park rangers (rellies) it might be a problem.
